[ About Markbase ]

A team’s knowledge should grow with its work.

Markbase helps people and coding agents share what they know, build on each other’s work, and get better together.

[ Our mission ]

Why we’re building Markbase

Teams get better as they work. They learn by doing and build a shared body of knowledge about their business. We call this institutional knowledge.

As coding agents take on more work, they should draw on that knowledge and contribute back to it. What one agent discovers should help the next person or agent do better, so the whole team improves together.

At Markbase, our mission is to make sure the growth of AI doesn’t come at the cost of our collective ability to learn.

[ Institutional knowledge ]

Making shared knowledge part of everyday work

Institutional knowledge takes many forms: why the architecture works a certain way, what caused a production incident, which approaches have already been tried, or what the team promised a customer.

That knowledge helps people and agents make better decisions. It also needs to grow and change as the work reveals something new.

Markbase gives development teams a shared place for decisions, findings, and working practices. People and agents can use that knowledge, contribute to it, and carry it forward across tasks and handoffs.

A production investigation should leave a useful incident record. A code change should prompt a check of the architecture docs. A handoff should preserve the reasoning and next steps. Each becomes an opportunity to improve what the whole team knows.

[ Principles ]

What guides the product

Build on what the team knows

People and agents should be able to find the decisions, constraints, and lessons that matter to their next task.

Contribute something useful back

Findings and explanations should reach the rest of the team, giving future work a better starting point.

Keep knowledge current

Shared knowledge needs to reflect changes in the software and business. Plans, merged changes, and abandoned ideas should be easy to tell apart.

Keep people involved

Teams should be able to understand and review agent work, choose when to supervise it, and shape the practices everyone follows.
