Markbase vs. Notion: Give your agents working context alongside your team wiki.
Notion and Markbase can both hold shared knowledge and connect to agents. The useful question is where your team wants its work to happen—and what needs to carry forward between people, tools, and environments.
[ Which fits? ]
Start with the work you need to do.
When Notion fits
Choose Notion when your team wants documents, databases, forms, and project organization in one workspace. If that already supports your agent workflows, build on what works.
When Markbase fits
Choose Markbase when your priority is a shared record that people and connected agents maintain across tasks: briefs, decisions, supporting files, and handoffs. Keep your existing wiki if it serves the rest of the business well.

| Updating shared work | Agree on where agent updates belong in your workspace. | Folder conventions guide contributions; version checks detect conflicting document edits. |

[ Pricing ]
Compare the invoice and what it includes.
Notion charges per paid member. Markbase’s paid plans start with a flat fee that includes seats. These are different products and feature bundles, so a lower price alone does not establish a better fit.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Seat basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Notion Plus | $12 / member | $10 / member / month | Per paid member |
| Notion Business | $24 / member | $20 / member / month | Per paid member |
| Markbase Pro | $20 total | $192 a year | Includes 5 seats |
| Markbase Team | $40 total | $384 a year | Includes 10 seats, then $5 each |
For five paid members
Billed monthly: Markbase Pro is $20 total. Notion Plus is $60 total; Business is $120 total.
For ten paid members
Billed monthly: Markbase Team is $40 total. Notion Plus is $120 total; Business is $240 total.
USD list prices before applicable tax. Notion’s annual column shows a monthly equivalent with annual billing; Markbase’s shows the full annual bill. Plan availability can vary by workspace. Check the provider’s current offer before buying. Notion Plus and Business pricing verified on October 8, 2026: Notion’s pricing page.
These examples count everyone as a paid Notion member and include no discounts or add-ons. Guest access has a different scope. If your organization already pays for Notion, using it for another workflow may add no new subscription cost.
Both products offer free plans. Markbase Free is for one person; use it to test your own handoffs before inviting a team. Markbase provides the workspace, while your chosen agent tool supplies the AI execution.

[ In practice ]
Give handoffs a shared home alongside your team wiki.
The starting point
Your company handbook and product plans live in Notion. An engineer investigates a customer issue, but the findings and next steps are still inside their agent conversation.
With a shared workspace
Save the reviewed investigation and relevant code reference in Markbase. A developer on another machine asks their agent to read it and continue. Link back to the team’s existing product plan where useful.
This is a workflow you can choose, not an automatic synchronization between Notion and Markbase. Each agent needs access to the sources you ask it to use.
[ Getting started ]
Try it with one piece of work.
- 01
Pick one active project whose work crosses people or agent tools.
- 02
Keep the handbook and other established reference material where the team already uses it.
- 03
Save one useful handoff in Markbase and have the next contributor continue from it.
[ Questions ]
A few practical questions.
- Does Notion work with coding agents?
- Yes. Notion offers a hosted MCP connection for compatible clients. Agent connectivity alone is not a reason to switch; compare the workflow your team wants around that connection.
- Do we have to replace our wiki?
- No. You can keep your human-facing knowledge base and use Markbase for evolving briefs, investigation notes, and agent handoffs. Decide which location owns each record so there is no ambiguity.
- Are the paid plans equivalent?
- No. Notion bundles a broader set of workspace features, with AI capabilities on Business. Markbase’s price covers a shared context workspace; your coding agents and model usage are separate. Compare the features you actually need before comparing the invoice.
